This article presents the current limitations of the OpenStack Plugin.

  • Virtual Full jobs are not supported.

  • OpenStack backups cannot be stopped and resumed/restarted later. The bconsole restart command has certain limitations with plugins, as it initiates the Job from the beginning instead of resuming it. Bacula determines whether a Job is to be restarted or continued, however, using the restart command will result in a new Job when using the OpenStack Plugin.

  • The proxy server must not have any multi-attached volumes.

  • Taking a snapshot of an image-backed server does not create snapshots of volumes currently attached to it. Volume snapshots of an image-backed server are created independently of the server snapshot and are therefore crash-consistent, not application-consistent.
